A step-by-step guide for HubSpot admins installing the Company Data Guys app. Covers OAuth scopes, app-card configuration, first enrichment, disconnect, and uninstall.

§ 01What Company Data Guys does
Company-record enrichment
Company Data Guys enriches HubSpot company records with current company data. The current HubSpot app writes back an accurate employee count to a dedicated Company Data Guys property. Broader company-data fields are available through the Company Data Guys API, and may be added as HubSpot writebacks in future versions. The app does not touch contacts, deals, tickets, marketing lists, workflows, or email activity.
§ 02Install the app
- 01Open the install page.
- 02Select the HubSpot production account you want to connect.
- 03Review the OAuth approval screen for Company Data Guys. The requested scopes are
oauth,crm.objects.companies.read,crm.objects.companies.write,crm.schemas.companies.read, andcrm.schemas.companies.write. - 04Click Connect app.
- 05After HubSpot redirects back, Company Data Guys stores encrypted OAuth tokens and connects the portal to a Company Data Guys account. New installs include trial lookups and can upgrade to a paid plan from the pricing page.
§ 03Configure company records
How the app matches a company
The app uses the company's domain or name on the HubSpot company record to resolve the correct company profile. If an accurate LinkedIn company URL or handle is already on the record, the app uses it directly. Adding a known-correct LinkedIn URL is optional but speeds up matching when you have one, for example

HubSpot does not allow apps to silently change CRM layouts during OAuth install. Add the card from a company record by opening Customize, selecting the company Default view, using the plus button to add a card, choosing the Card library tab, searching for Company Data Guys, adding the card, and saving the view.
§ 04Use the app
- 01In HubSpot, go to Companies and open a company record.
- 02If the Company Data Guys card is not visible, click Customize at the top of the middle cards area, choose Default view, click the plus button to add a card, open the Card library tab, search for Company Data Guys, click Add card, then click Save and exit.
- 03Confirm the record has a domain or company name the app can match. Optionally add a known-correct LinkedIn company URL on the record because the app uses it directly when available.
- 04Click Pull latest company info.
- 05The app fetches current public company data and writes the employee count value to
company_data_guys_linkedin_employee_count, labeled LinkedIn employee count. Other company-data fields are returned by the Company Data Guys API and are not yet written back to HubSpot. - 06The card shows the result status, portal ID, and refreshed timestamp so admins can verify recent activity.
§ 05Disconnect and uninstall
Disconnect
Remove or revoke Company Data Guys from HubSpot settings under Integrations. Future app-card calls and OAuth API access stop immediately. Existing values already written to HubSpot company records remain.
Uninstall
Open HubSpot Integrations, select Company Data Guys, and choose Uninstall. Uninstalling stops future enrichment requests and does not automatically delete the LinkedIn employee count property or previously written values.
